Annuzza : a girl of Romania

Summary: Annuzza longs for something more than her [Romanian] family's meager farm and village life can offer her. When she wins the chance to go to the city school, it is over her father's protests, and it is in the city that her maturity -- and her problems -- really begin. The sympathy of understanding friends and members of her family is lost on Annuzza as she searches for a new identity, but slowly through the people who influence her the true values of her life begin to take shape.
