Summary:

Ed McBain's 87th Precinct : Heatwave: When Officers Carella and Meyers are stimied in their search for a serial rapist they seek the help of a fellow police officer Eileen Burke as a potential victim. However, the rapist knows their plan and has targeted Burke as his next victim.

Ice: During a hi-tech robbery, husband and wife thieves Charley and Ellen Reed steal sixty million dollars worth of diamonds from godfather Vito Malta. During a bloody shoot-out, Charley is killed. Along with her brother Rick, Ellen is hunted by Malta's fleet of ruthless killers as well as a second family of gangsters who want the diamonds.
