Most are unaware that formation of the 9/11 Commission was strongly opposed by many in Washington, including the Bush administration. It was only due to pressure from a small group of grieving families, led by twelve who called themselves the Family Steering Committee, that, 14 months after the attacks, the first hearing finally began. Extensive use of archive footage reminds us of the Twin Towers collapsing while President Bush sat in an elementary school-room for more than 7 minutes while children read "My Pet Goat." Here, five of the most prominent members of that Committee (including the Jersey Girls) tell their story, providing powerful arguments for why 9/11 still needs to be investigated. The film-makers stitch together rare, overlooked news clips, buried stories about Pakistani involvement in the 9/11 attacks, and government press conferences, revealing a pattern of official lies, deception, and spin. As Monica Gabrielle says, "9/11 was the biggest don't-ask-don't-tell, and if it wasn't for the families, we wouldn't have anything - and that's very frightening." Paul Thompson adds, "We have to go beyond the myth and get to the truth. We have to know."
