Summary:

In 1925 attorney Clarence Darrow battles fundamentalist leader William Jennings Bryan in a Tennessee courtroom when schoolteacher Bertram Cates is put on trial for violating the Butler Act, a state law that prohibits public school teachers from teaching evolution.
