Summary: 39 Steps: A man falsely accused of murder must uncover a secret organization in order to prove his innocence. Adapted from the novel by John Buchan. Scarlet Street: When a man in a mid-life crisis befriends a young woman, her fiancee persuades her to con him out of some of the fortune they think he has. Based on a novel and play La Chienne by Georges de La Fouchardiere. Amazing Adventure: Cary Grant plays a rich young man with too little to do. Not realizing that the depression he is in, is due to boredom, he consults with a doctor who prescribes a bitter pill. He must earn his own living for one year using none of his existing wealth, and bets $50,000 that he can do it. From novel The Amazing Quest of Mr. Ernest Bliss by E. Phillips Oppenheim. Nothing Sacred: To redeem himself after a hoaz, a reporter proposes a series of stories on doomed Hazel Flagg. She discovers that she does not have radium poisoning, but still accepts the big fling in New York that was offered to her. Suggested by a story by James H. Street.
