Summary: This lavishly illustrated book presents one of the great collections of Italian paintings in North America, and includes major works dating from the twelfth through the eighteenth centuries. The volume presents fifty highlights of the collection, many with color details and comparative illustrations. Introductions to each chronological section situate individual works of art within the artistic and stylistic developments of the period.
