Summary: Khurram's manipulative stepmother wants her daughter to be the next queen. Khurram refuses and marries Arjumand, and they have two sons while in hiding. Nurjahan has the children kidnapped and Khurram goes to his dying father, who by now realizes his mistake. The Emperor declares Khurram to be the next Emperor, has Nurjahan arrested and gives Khurram the title of Shah Jahan.
